The Istanbul Opera House, situated on the Kadıköy waterfront, is my bachelor's thesis project that aims to integrate the rich industrial heritage of its locale with the vibrant world of performing arts. Overlooking iconic Istanbul landmarks such as the Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmet Mosque, and the Haydarpaşa Train Station, this design seeks to capture the essence of its historic setting while offering a fresh perspective on cultural spaces. Drawing inspiration from Kadıköy's significance as an industrial and trading port, the Opera House extends this industrial motif up to the Moda shore, blending the architectural language of the past with contemporary design. Moreover, my project aspires to serve as a conduit between the dynamic hustle of urban life and the serene allure of nature, providing a peaceful retreat within the city's lively rhythm. Through this endeavor, I hope to contribute a piece that not only respects its context but also enriches the cultural tapestry of Istanbul.
