Hello there! My name is Foad Sarsangi.
I’m an architectural designer at Bjarke Ingels Group in New York City and a photographer whenever I manage to escape the office.
I studied architecture at Istanbul Bilgi University. I’m interested in design that is smart without being loud, emotional without being dramatic, and playful without being gimmicky. If a space makes you feel something before you start thinking about it, that is when it works.
Photography comes from the same curiosity. Cities are full of small moments that most people miss. I like catching them: the quiet ones, the accidental beauty, the things that disappear a second later. I shoot buildings too, and humans, but buildings are much less awkward about it.
Those moments, whether in a building or on a street corner, remind me why we build things in the first place.
Everything on this site is part of that. Architecture, street photography, architectural photography, and the side projects I inevitably get absorbed in.
I design buildings and take photos, mostly because staring at people and walls is socially acceptable if you call it “creative.”
Feel free to explore. I’ll be here pretending not to watch.
